Fabulous brunch at Dobyn's

We've had dinner at Keeter Center several times, but last Sunday was the first time we've gone to their brunch. It was fabulous (kind of expensive at $20, but worth it). They have four separate "stations"; one is all breakfast: made-to-order omelets; scrambled eggs, bacon & sausage; biscuits and gravy; and waffles with choice of toppings; second one I didn't even get to, but it appeared to be prime rib; mashed potatoes, veggies; third was probably ten or twelve salads, cucumbers/onions; tomatoes and something; potato salad, caesar's salad, etc; fourth was about twelve different dessert choices, yummy! I would HIGHLY recommend this for a special occasion or just to "treat" yourself!

Dh and I had lunch today at the Keeter Center - it quickly advanced to the top of our 'must do' restaurants a few months ago.

Beefmaster sandwich - MMMMMmmmm! Parmesean encrusted sourdough bread, with lots of shaved beef, served with horseradish.... MMMM! Fries are wonderful too.

Dh had the chicken and dumplins, I didn't get a taste, I think he enjoyed it.

I boxed up 1/2 my sandwich, so I'd have room for dessert - Dessert was difficult to choose from, but we got the mixed berry cobbler - FANTASTIC! I still can't believe I passed up coconut cream pie, and creme brulle... We'll definately be going back, and will have to try to make it for the brunch, it sounds marvelous!

BTW, dh added a cup of soup, I added a side salad, and we both had raspberry tea - with our entree's and our dessert - our bill was $32 at lunch prices.

I need to chime in about The Keeter Center also. We had never been there before but on this vacation trip we've eaten there 3 times. They have wonderful food and the service is excellent. We did the Sunday brunch on our first time and it was great. We had lunch there two other days. One of those days it wasn't too hot or humid and we ate outside on their deck. That was fun also. The lunch prices are very reasonable.

My husband and I ate the brunch at the Keeter Center last Sunday too and it was absolutely wonderful! The students that work there are great and their service was superb! I hate to even admit this, but we also went back for their evening meal and fireworks! They talked us into it and it was a wonderful evening! If anyone would have told me I would have spent that much on food in one day I would have told them they were crazy! Oh well, we work hard and were on vacation! After the evening meal we went out on the deck part and waited for the fireworks. It was part of the meal deal! They also had chairs set up on the lawn as well as blankets available for those who wanted to sit in the grass, and a lot of people with kids were on the blankets. They also served lemonade and an apple pie dessert with cinnamon ice cream or watermelon sorbet. They didn't keep track so you could eat and drink as much as you wanted but after the meal we had one of each was plenty! The temperature was perfect and the fireworks were great too!

Did you know they make their own ice cream, and the cream is from their Dairy Farm?

Yes, their ice cream is very good. We had it both times we ate lunch there. I never get home-made ice cream so it was a real treat.
