Couple of great meals! 6/24-6/30

Had some great meals and some just ok meals!

Tuesday 6/24: Lamberts - What can I say? It is a Landmark! I thought I would put my wife through pure torture for the rest of the day, so I had the Somethin' Southern (Ham and Beans)! It was superb! Wife had chicken as always. Stopped at Steak n Shake by Celebration City after our show....it was ok. Nothing to complain about, but nothing to write home about either. (Burgers and Chili)

Wednesday 6/25: Hard Luck for lunch and Red Lobster for dinner - Hard Luck was ok. Again, nothing to complain about. Singers were good. Now Red Lobster on the other hand was outstanding! 2 words for ya.......Ultimate Fondu (SP?) It is a giant breadbowl with cheese, lobster, shrimp, and crab poured inside. Need I say more? Also, the Shrimp Scampi should be outlawed! No one should have that much pleasure when eating. Red Lobster should bottle the butter sauce that it is prepared in. I know it is just butter, garlic and some herbs, but it is liquid gold!

Thursday 6/26: Mexican restaurant across from Presleys for lunch (Don't know the name) and Dixie Stampede for dinner. Mexican was ok. Did have great salsa and queso dip. Dixie Stampede was wonderful as always. Had to take my son and wife's food back to motel. Was looking forward to eating it late that night, but fell asleep and left it out on the counter.

Friday 6/27: Grand Country Buffet for breakfast/ Uptown Cafe for lunch/ and Dana's BBQ for dinner. I think I put on 20 lbs during this day alone. Grand Country was good. (Still think Golden Corral has better selection) Uptown Cafe was also good. Good burger! Dana's was excellent! There were 8 of us there and they all loved it! I had the Dana Burger and split the nachos with my wife! Best burger I think I have ever had, and the nachos were excellent as well. Brother in law had the garbage burger and couldn't stop talking about how good it was. Awesome dinner!

Saturday 6/28: Golden Corral for Breakfast and Montana Mike's for Dinner - Golden Corral has the best omelets in town. Widest variety of food as well. Can't get enough. Usually eat there almost every morning of our vacation. Montana Mikes was ok for me. I had he ribeye and it was good, but thought it needed a bit more seasoning. Other members of our group loved it. Would probably go back, but maybe order another cut of meat.

Sunday 6/29: SDC and Olive Garden for dinner - Munched around at SDC. Didn't get to have the normal items I usually get. We were rushed much of the day and were standing in alot of lines for the kids. Had Olive Garden for dinner and it was excellent! I had some type of steak and tortellini. Also had stuffed mushrooms. Probably the best meal of the trip!

Monday 6/30: White River Fish CO. - Stopped by The Landing before heading home and had White River Fish for lunch. It was good, but not as good as the first time I had it. I ordered something I wouldn't normally get and kind of spoiled the dinner for me. I tried Mahi Mahi for the first time. It was ok, but I ended up trading meals with my sister. She had catfish and it was good. Highlight has the alligator tail appetizer! Awesome! The atmosphere and location is perfect. We spent a while just looking around and sitting outside by the lake. Good meal and wonderful time.

Gawwwwwwwwd, I thought I was all settled in for the evening...now I gotta go find me ''something yummy to eat''.

Liquid gold?
Seafood?

You know that is the only food I would need if stranded on an island in the middle of the ocean............I love shrimp, and crab, and prawns, and lobster, and oysters, and clams and and and and.............I can remember driving over to Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco, on a Saturday night...and buying a cracked crab wrapped in a big hunk of newspaper, and a chunk of imported from up north Tillimook cheddar cheese, and a bottle of wine, and a big chunk of Ghiradelli chocolate...........then we'd go over a few blocks near China Town and a cute little park and sit on the grass and EAT. OMG...I gotta go find something to eat....

great review...............

Good gravy! I've been craving Red Lobster. Now that I've read about the "Ultimate Fondue" that craving is even worse. Gotta get me a fix...gotta get me a fix!!

And Cheesecake, did you see the other week on The Next Food Network Star the gal who had to use white chocolate and fish? Can't remember what kind of fish it was, but it's supposed to be showing up on Red Lobster's menu as she won that part of the challenge. Heard rave reviews all the way around on it. Now THAT sounds interesting -- seafood AND chocolate in one sitting! Hmmm...

Yea, I saw the winning recipe on a seperate menu. It is on the Fish of the Day menu. Didn't try it, though. I had forgot all about that until I saw the menu.

I enjoyed reading the YUMMY review!!!! I am not a big fish person though. Fish sticks and baked shrimp are all I can eat. My girl likes crab and cold shrimp.

For years, it's been said the ''whatevah'' in seafood and in combo with chocolate, enhances ones libido.

No scientific evidence from me, but .........

I find my cereal and toast breakfast even more inspiring after that review. Should have had shrimp scampi and queso for breakfast!

I love the rolls, but usually only eat a couple. Mainly due to the fact that the bread expands in your stomach resulting in less consumption of the main course. My son caught a couple. He is a year and a half and kept yelling ball!!!! He kept wanting to throw it back at him. I was going to let him but my wife stopped him.

Thanks to this thread I consumed 12,000 calories today! Red Lobster for lunch and Chula Vista (Mexican) for dinner.

David, how in the heck did you eat Golden Corral Buffet, Uptown and Danna's all in the same day???
