Refillable mugs at SDC

When we were there several years ago, they were doing the refillable mugs. Can anyone tell me if they still do that and if so, can you bring your old mugs from previous visits or do you have to buy a new one? TIA

Yes, the still do. The price depends on what price is on your mug. Ours refill at $1 a piece.

We have cups that are 75cents..glass. Ones's that are $1.00, plastic 12ounce christmas cups, $1.50 plastic 16 ounce cups, and our newest..I think is a 20ounce cup, refills are either $1.75 or $2.25. (I think, we never bring those, we keep with the 1.00 refills mugs.)

I'm very confused here. It's been a couple of years since we've been to SDC although we come to Branson regularly. When we bought our mugs probably 6 yrs ago and went back the following year, the price we paid for refills was the current refill price not the price that was on our mug.
Maybe I'm getting old and forgetful but that's the way I remember it.

I think they did try to increase the price of refills, and although we have refilled mugs this year, I'm honestly not sure if it was the old price or the new refill price.

We always take old mugs with us - no need to buy what we already have.

I bought one of this years mugs on Friday 6/20/08 for $8.50 and on the side it states the prices for mug refills, for mugs purchased this year, as $1.75 for soft drinks and that type of refill and $2.50 for speciality drink refills, such as frozen lemonade. The frozen lemonade vendor told me that the cup holds 22 ozs. A 16 oz frozen lemonade is $4.00 so it is a bargain if you are a frequent user. Also remember, that the fountain drinks that you get for $1.75 refills are already cold straight from the fountain so if you anticipate drinking all of that drink within 30 minutes with a meal, you can get more "pop" by getting the refill without ice.

someone may have already mentioned this
If so, forgive me

but when we took our refill cups in this past month, they only charged what was printed on the side of the mug

Ours said 1.00
That is all the guy at the stand charged for our frozen lemonades with flavoring. (a piece)

I pointed out that the sign on his stand said that refills were higher than what he charged...I was trying to be honest.

He pointed to the 1.00 on the side of our mugs and said that is the charge.

I guess it depends on what is printed on the mug (?)

Makes it worth digging out the oldest mugs we have around, to take with us!

I love their policy on their mugs. At Disney you have to buy a new one each year to use at their Resorts.

Okay, had to go dig out my mugs. I have 3 and all 3 say $1.50 with nothing said about specialty drinks. Two mugs are the same size with straight sides and one is taller with a bottom made to fit in a drink holder.

Wow - this is weird! We had to pay the current price for refills this spring and our mugs are two years old!!! When we got the newer mugs I threw away the older ones. My mistake! DD just told me we paid the current price last time we were there in the spring, so this is just plain weird.

I think some of the workers are charging the 'new' price, and some are sympathetic to the guest.
