Dino's 24 Karrot Carrot Cake

Had the privilege of visiting Dino's new cake shop in Hollister. Called "Dino's 24 Karrot Cakes Co.", it's located at 12 Downing Street. Had a bit of his carrot cake, red velvet cake and chocolate fudge cake as well as a petit four. Now, I am an avowed chocoholic -- who has no desire to recover -- who also loves a GOOD carrot cake! I have to say, this was easily the best carrot cake I've had. Moist, rich and delicious, it was a definite hit!! It's a beautiful cake, and would be a great addition to any special occasion -- or just a family dinner. Same with both the Red Velvet Cake and the Chocolate Fudge Cake -- which was probably my favorite. It's quite honestly incredibly rich and delicious, with lots of deep, smooth, dark chocolate. Cakes here can be purchased by the slice, or a whole 8" or 10" cake. They have a couple of others on their menu, one of which impressed me with just it's appearance; a beautiful strawberry cake. Check them out next time you're in the mood for a great slice of cake, or need a cake for a special occasion!

Those delicious cakes also have a nice little price tag, cheapest $39.50 for an 8 inch.

I have heard about Dino's 14 carrot cake and I heard it was expensive but I also heard that is well worth the money. I can't wait to try it

No, definitely not cheap. But DEFINITELY well worth the price!! Anyone who knows Dino knows he never does anything half-way, and that goes for his cakes as well as his shows. But I tell you, the cakes are so good and so rich, you could easily make them go farther by serving smaller slices.

Dino had his grand opening last Friday. They did a nice job on the building's remodel and it's themed well to their products. Saying the man is passionate about carrot cake is an understatement.

We walked out with a slice of the chocolate fudge and a slice of the red velvet, plus a couple of petit fours, for about $10...but those slices of cake are HUGE and can easily feed two!! I believe the carrot cake is the same price as the others.

Drive across the Taneycomo bridge near the Landing and then you're in Hollister. Turn right and continue down the highway to go to downtown Hollister.

That's not a bad price. We will probably try it sometime this spring or summer.

Okay...we went and got one of the Carrot Cake loafs, the size of a small loaf of bread for $20...I had to sell one of my goats and the two baby yaks.....but things will pick up soon and the cash flow will be back and then I can buy them back.....but..the Carrot Cake was VERY, VERY good.....it is loaded with good stuff...my only complaint...and this is a slight complaint....in MY OPINION....there are too many nuts in the cake......other wise it is very good....very pricey...but very good....
